Fishgate
The Fishgate Facility

Located in Hull, England we have direct links to the UK motorway network and ferry links to Europe. The facility was built as a hub in the distribution of fresh fish from the North Atlantic to processors and consumers in the UK and Europe.

The building is temperature controlled to not exceed a maximum of +10 deg C and all fish are iced to ensure they are held below +2 deg C. An important feature is our traceabilty system that tracks the product from source to first buyer. We pride ourselves that we can trace any batch or box of fish through the distribution chain in under 15 minutes through our computer system.

The Marel grading machinery is a feature that allows us to ensure the round fish and flat fish with the exception of very large fish are accurately graded. In the case of cod and haddock this is to 7 size grades. We use the quality index measurement method (QIM) to provide feedback to the producers on the quality and also to verify that our handling practices do not have any adverse effect on fish quality.

Our staff are highly trained to maintain our reputation as the most quality conscious fresh fish market in Western Europe. All fish are properly re-iced before dispatch.
